It’s official: the Exit 6 Film Festival is launched!

Greetings, filmmakers and lovers!

My name is Catarina Lopes and I am the News Editor for the Exit 6 Film Festival (I’m the “gloomy” creature pictured on the far left). My mission is to make sure that our followers are always updated and don’t miss anything about the event that is about to ”refresh” the Hampshire cultural scene!

The E6 Team

This Saturday (13 March) was the Exit 6 Film Festival launch party. The event marked the countdown towards the festival premiere that is going to take place on 24 September 2016.

More than 80 filmmakers and film-lovers gathered at “The Forge” (The Anvil) in Basingstoke to enjoy two hours of short film screenings and fun talks with some of its Directors. In total, 7 short films and 1 music video were screened.

From genres such as comedy, horror, LGBT and social realism the audience had a taster of the cinematographic experience that Exit 6 Film Festival will offer across multiple venues in September.

The second part of the launch was held at The Tea Bar, where live music performances from The Exit 6 house band and other local performers animated the night; even a special cocktail named after the festival was created and presented to the guests, to celebrate the occasion.

Martin Delaney, Actor (Zero Dark Thirty, Flags of Our Fathers) and Director (Short - Queen’s Mile, 2015) expressed his feelings about the event:

“I was really impressed at the caliber of the films shown at the launch night of Exit 6 Film Festival, and it was an honour to have 'Queen's Mile' screen amongst them.

It was wonderful to see so much creative energy on screen and very impressive. This kind of standard gives me high hopes for the festival in September.“
